Since blogging is still relatively new to me and I have much to learn I thought I would spend a little time checking other golf oriented blogs. I put together a list of blogs that I thought were worth checking into.

Check out The Golf Girl

Here is a little “tidbit” of information for all you online shoppers. For some of you this may be old news, but for me it is new and a very useful tool when I am shopping online. Have you ever heard of Google Base? Maybe you have but have you used it to help shop online. Here is where you start, http://base.google.com/

I was searching the net to see who was out there with blogs relating to golf products. I found a couple, that will remain nameless, for now, and I cant say I liked what I saw. They werent blogs at all. They were basically a mini-website under the disguise of a blog trying to make it look like they were following the blog tradition. They supposedly reviewed products and you could click on the link and suddenly you were taken to a page where you could buy the product.

I thought blogs were where you conveyed opinions and wrote honestly about those things you cared about or were interested in. Anyway, I dont really care what the other guys are doing, but here is what I want to do.

Every so often I am going to post a product on my blog requesting everyone’s opinion. I dont care if you golf or not, but your opinion on the product would be appreciated. Each product will be pictured and a description of it and some basic information about its potential use and value. Here is the first one.

I say there are about a gazillion golf products out there to buy online. Is there an industry more crazy than this one? It seems like the products of choice among golfers change faster than a presidential candidate’s stance on the Iraq war. There is a stupid analogy but the point still exists. I like to scan Google Products for pricing on golf products and equipment to see what is reasonably priced or what is the “hot”

Speaking of golf products and patents and inventors and all. Golf seems to be the one industry that constantly has a flurry of new products flooding in. Someone always thinks they can build the better mouse trap. The keywords for golf inventors seems to be handy and easy or maybe better

Welcome to my blog. Call me a rookie or a non-geek or some other name but the fact is I see my blog as a chance to say what I want, when I want and to whomever will listen. And of course I hope someone listens.

I am going to venture into anything and everything I can think of as it relates to golf. You are going to hear whatever is on my mind at the time. I want to ask for your comments and I will want your help, your opinions, your comments good and bad.

I will have golf product reviews on this blog. I will grab a product off the Internet or someplace else and ask you to evaluate its usefullness. Maybe you will have a product you would like to get a golfer’s opinion on. Possibly you invented something who knows. Let’s use this blog for something positive.

If you find my blog and you golf, even if you just golf a little bit or maybe you know someone that golfs, link to it. I guarantee this blog will change regularly, if not every day then at least every couple days. So link here and lets get this things started.

Topic: Golf products on the Internet

A few years ago I had a librarian at my alma mater, Ferris State University, teach me how to search the Patent office for all the patents relating to golf products in the US. I was overwhelmed. Entrepreneurs all over the country come up with ideas, my father in law for one, and they think they need to spend the thousands of dollars to get a patent to protect their invention. Think about this, odds are someone has already thought of it or a version of it. If you patent it, someone can steal your idea simply by changing the product by as little as 17% and
